The True Lens

"The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera.

Found this little guy on Ebay a couple weeks ago and fell in love.  I spontaneously bid on it and I won! Now I owe my dad some money which I'll be paying off this summer but STILL I couldn't pass this up! I've got 3 lenses, all the documentation, 2 camera bags, and a camera in great condition all for the price of ONE lens.  I'm not done with the first roll of film yet, but when I get it developed I'll be sure to post some of the pictures.  I'm so excited!

Weekends

Happy Monday! My weekend was somewhat lackluster but that's ok because it's summer! I'll be home for another week and then I head to Charlotte, North Carolina for an internship.  I'm kinda nervous but also really excited! These are some pictures I took over the weekend using Instagram on my iPhone (which is the best thing ever)!

{a}: Sitting outside of  Starbucks on Friday catching up with some old friends over chi lattes and iced coffees enjoying the sunny 80 degree weather.

{b}: Helping my sister study for her biology final.  She's still in school...I forgot how much it sucked to be in high school!

{c}: Again outside of Starbucks....BUT this time watching the Blue Angels air show.  It was AWESOME! The planes were SO loud, and one literally flew right over me and shook the entire building! I tried getting a picture of the planes but they were just too fast.

{d}: We got new wood flooring in our basement...yeah I know it's so exciting...

Wedding Season

If you haven't seen Modcloth's wedding-worthy lookbook definitely check it out, especially if you're planning on attending any weddings during this lovely wedding season like me!  My aunt is getting married in the beginning of June, and I'm super excited because I'm way too obsessed with weddings.  She's getting married in this little old white church in the countryside with their closest family and friends.  It's going to be small, but that doesn't mean you can't wear a pretty dress! I SHOULD just wear one that I already have, but where's the fun in that?! I've been looking around and this lookbook is perfect! Here are some of my favorites:

Swamped

As indicated in the title, I am feeling swamped by all of the studying for my finals that start on Friday and end on Wednesday.  There is so much to do and so little time.  These pictures by Fearless basically sum up how I'm feeling.  The world is flipped around and upside down.  I'm feeling small compared to the road ahead and the future is foggy.  I love it when life can be summed up in pictures.  It makes you feel a little better about upcoming trials...like grades...bad grades...why isn't it summer yet?!

Off to the Races

There's an annual tradition of attending a local steeplechase that happens in the spring.  The girls wear bright sundresses and floppy hats.  The guys wear brightly colored bowties or ties with colored shorts or pants.  It was last Saturday, and I spent all day outside and got a horrible sunburn, but it was so much fun.  I wish it wasn't just once a year.

My friends and I somehow ended up painting our nails the same color! I guess it's just very spring-y. It's called Jaded by Revlon.

There was also a Vineyard Vines suburban! It's the preppiest car I've ever seen.

Much Love Monday

Happy Monday! It is officially my last Monday of the year.  That's right! It's almost summer vacation! Except I have to get through exams first...you'll have to pardon my absence this next week.  I'll be studying nonstop until next Tuesday.  Ugh. I don't even want to think about it.

I hope your Monday marks the start of a better week than mine!

A Royal Occasion

I know you all are probably sick of all the royal wedding nonsense, but I'm obsessed so it has yet to get old for me.  My roommate and I got up at 5:30am on Friday to watch the procession and the ceremony.  We laid in bed all day watching the highlights and all the crazy hats.  Days later, I caught myself looking at the pictures again and watching the videos over and over.  I've decided that we Americans are so obsessed with the Royals because we have nothing like it so the thought of there being real queens, kings, princes, and princesses fascinates us.  William and Kate's story is so romantic and a real life fairy tale.  Kate is living every little girls' dream from the dress to the carriage to the cake, and I'm so sad that the fantasy of a royal wedding is now over.  But then again...Harry still has to get married...that's one more royal wedding!

I love the lace overlay on her dress.  It's so traditional and classic and still so gorgeous.
