Summer Haze

These are some pictures I took with my Diana F+ at the beginning of the summer.  They are a little overexposed again.  Oh well.  I still think they turned out pretty well.  I'll hopefully be getting my first roll developed from my Minolta soon.  I can't wait to see what the pictures look like!

Sailing Away

1, 2, 3
I'll be leaving tomorrow for another year at school! I'm sad to be leaving my family, but I am so excited to start another year full of new experiences...now if I could just finish packing...

Sailing the Seas

This was my boyfriend's idea: take a split shot using 2 trees as the dividing line. I think it turned out really well. Could be one of my new favorites!

Here are some of my shots I took with my Diana F+ when I was in Annapolis over spring break (yes, I know that was a really long time ago!).  They came out a little over exposed. I'm slowly learning...

Dip Your Brush

“Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."
-Henry Ward Beecher

I love these paintings by Jackson Pollock.  They've been my inspiration for a while.  I even made a splatter painting using blues, greens, and yellows.  Mine didn't turn out as good a Pollock's, but I just loved the color palette so much I had to try it!

Day at the Barn

Since I don't remember a time when my family didn't own at least 1 horse, I've spent most of my childhood at the barn.  After entering high school, the time I spent at the barn decreased as my homework load increased, but every now and then I love spending an afternoon with the horses, dogs, cats, and especially my mom.  This particular sunny afternoon, my little sister got the privilege of joining us.  We had a lot of fun just messing around with the horses.

DIY: Inspiration Board

I've been in a pretty crafty mood lately, and I wanted to share one of my recent projects.  I call it an Inspiration Board! I use it as a place to store some of my favorite foods, fashion advice, and decor that I've found in magazines. It's also a great decoration for my oh-so-plain room. Here's how you make one:

Supplies:
*Cork board
*Tacks
*Magazine clippings

If you want to be SUPER crafty add some embellishments like flowers, buttons, or beads.  You could even paint the frame of the board (I painted mine blue).

Gather some pictures and quotes that you want to put on the board.

Arrange the pictures any way you want.  Secure with tacks.  Add embellishments (I added buttons and some flowers).

And you're done! Yay! That was easy.

Happy crafting!

1, 2, 3,
Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I'm going to start packing up all of my junk to take back to school.  I only have 2 more weeks before I move into my new apartment and before classes start!  What are your plans for this weekend?

A Spot of Tea

Images from T2

Even though I'm not really a fan of tea (I'm more of a coffee person), I still have an obsession (or should I say fancy) for tea cups.  They are just so cute and delicate.  I could stare at the detailing for hours and not get bored.  Each one is so different and unique it's hard to pick a favorite.  Maybe I should start collecting tea cups!

Playing Hookie

all images from Studded Hearts

Since all I can do for about a week is sit in bed and try to forget how much my mouth is killing me, I've been browsing the internet a lot finding new photographers, websites, yummy things (like cake pops), and really cool DIY projects.  Hope everyone's week is going well! You're halfway through!
