A Taste of Fall

Over fall break, my family and I took a trip to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard.  The weather was gorgeous, and the ride up there was so colorful as all the trees were starting to change colors.  We ate apple donuts and drank apple cider as we wandered through the green and orange rows of pumpkins trying to find the best one.  My little brother decided he wanted a gourd instead of a pumpkin.  I think he'll change his mind once he tries to carve it for Halloween.  Now I'm back at school missing the fall mountain weather and the taste of freshly picked apples.

Yearbooks

I’m officially on fall break, and it’s so nice to not have to worry about homework for a little while.  I need a stress free break.  Before I left school, I found some old yearbooks ranging from the late 1800s to 2003.  It was so fun to see how the times have changed.  It was hard to believe those people in the black and white pictures and the names written under the titles World War I and World War II were all my age. These pictures from Life magazine remind me of the old pictures in the yearbooks.  I'm kind of obsessed with the past.  It's a bit nerdy, but maybe that's why I can't seem to stop watching Mad Men.
