wonderfully merry

While it feels like Thanksgiving was only last week, Christmas is actually here (well...4 more days)! I've decorated the trees, made some sugar cookies, wrapped presents, argued with family (always necessary during the holidays), and filling the rest of the days with Christmas songs, peppermint, and hot chocolate.  Now that finals are over and I'm home for the holidays, it's nice to spend time with my family and focus on all of them without all the little distractions of school.

Have a wonderfully merry Christmas!

Procrastination

pro·cras·ti·na·tion [proh-kras-tuh-ney-shuh n, pruh
noun
the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention

Yep, that basically sums up my life this past semester.  Now that I'm on winter break, it's becoming clear I really like the adrenaline of waiting until the last possible minute to get something done. From exams, papers, more exams, that was easy to see, but also with people, relationships, outings, life plans, ect.  No need to get into the gritty details but I do think while time is quickly flying by, I sit around pretending things aren't happening, and then it's too late.  Good think I've got 3 weeks to work through these foggy emotions and reinvent my motivation.

PS: These pictures were taken on my Diana F+ on a roll that lasted about a year and then took another 6 months for me to drag my butt to the camera shop to get them developed...oops...hence the need to rid myself of this bad habit of procrastination.

pumpkin carving

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween! I can't believe it's already November!  This semester has probably gone by faster than any in my entire life.  It's hard to even remember what all has happened.  November should bring even more fun! I've already pulled off a fantastic, successful philanthropy and am looking forward to my 21st birthday on Saturday! I'm hoping to start posting some more pictures, partially to make myself document the little things that happen since there are so many memories being made I can hardly keep up.

A recent development is this baby: university-avenue.blogspot.com
My 3 best friends and I decided to create a fashion blog together.  We're slowly building some outfit and inspirational posts, so follow along!

the quiet garden

Although I'm back at school now and relatively back into the swing of the chaotic college life, I can't help but miss the simplicity of summer.  Stress was non-existent; time moved slowly.  Things were peaceful, easy, and uncomplicated.  The warm sun, the smell of just being alive singed the air with the presence of something simple and quiet.  Oh to go back and sit in the garden with the new tomato plants, damp dirt, bees and butterflies with nothing to think about but what I would eat for lunch.

Thanks for letting me be all nostalgic.  I guess this is what happens when you get old....

Current Life Quotes

1,2,3,4,5,6,7

There are those moments in life when it's time to choose a path not knowing where it will lead you or what places you'll end up finding, but you have to choose regardless of the fear of the unknown or the easy comfort of the familiar.  You pick up your bags and keep moving until you find that your new normal really isn't new at all.

diy: painting a cooler

Just a little something I've been working with on and off this summer.  Being the perfectionist that I am, it took a lot longer than I would've liked, but now that it's finished, I have no outlet from my craft addiction....

a most anticipated wedding

The wedding seemed like just yesterday when in fact it happened months ago.  The late night rehearsal dinner proceeded a VERY early morning full of the smells of wine and champagne, coffee, and hairspray.  In a flurry of fake eyelashes, bobby pins, curling irons, and makeup, the bride, bridesmaids (my sister and I), and some close girlfriends made it to the church right on time for the 10am wedding.  The day was blur, but the food, cake, band and company were great.  Who couldn't love a beautiful wedding anyways?
